This small deck and stair rebuild in Pompton Plains, NJ replaced a worn-out setup at the back door with all-new pressure-treated framing and decking. The old boards came off down to bare wood, and a fresh set of stairs went in to bring the door back up to a solid, safe landing. The lumber still has that fresh-cut look in these photos, since it needs time to dry out before it can be stained. But that’s the process: rebuild first, let the wood settle, then finish it off. It’s the kind of smaller repair job that keeps a deck safe long after the original wood starts to give out.
